Dear Sandy and Family: We are very sorry to learn of your Dad’s passing. Whit and your Dad shared so many moose hunts in past years. He is truly in a “happy hunting ground now”. His notes in his annual Christmas cards will be missed. We cherish the wonderful memories. Please accept our deepest sympathies. Whit and Nora

Sandy, Karen & families, please accept our sincere sympathies. I remember Duffy from his days at Nelson Bros, a big strong man who still put in a good day’s work at 70 years old. He was well respected by everyone who knew him, a good man.

Dear Sandy, Karen & Families, So sorry to hear about your Dad. Oh my, the stories my Dad (Ed) would bring home after one of their hunting trips. One of their traditions – if you missed a deer/moose, you would have your shirt tail cut off by one of the hunters after everyone returned to camp. Duffy missed his target and went back to camp before everyone else got there. When the rest arrived, my Dad took great pleasure in cutting the tail off your Dadâs shirt. Duffy was not upset at all â noâ¦â¦your dad had gotten back and put on my Dadâs shirt!! Thank God for memories. My deepest sympathies to all of you. Sandy Heard

Dear Karen, Sandy and Families Please know that our thoughts are with you as you remember Duffy in Grimsby. He was a remarkable man and we feel privileged to have had the opportunity to know him. We will cherish the times he accompanied Erin and Trevor to our home for holiday dinners. To Dan and I memories of Duffy will forever be synonymous with onions in cheese sauce now fondly known in our household as “Duffy’s onions.”
