Sharon: We deeply regret your loss and we remember Dillon fondly. Both you & Dillon treated us very warmly from the time we first met you on one of our Canoe Trails trips. I will never forget your faithfulness to haul the Snow Trails group out to the Wildman’s cabin. I will never forget how much fun it was to visit with you both. Even though the time I was able to spend with Dillon was very short, he was a good friend. There is nothing anyone can say to comfort you. You have lost your best friend. The only thing I can offer is Jesus Christ. Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 1:4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles…” My prayer is that you will know this comfort in this time of deep need.

I was so sorry to read in our local paper that Dillon had passed away. Several years ago I had the privelege of working for a few years with Dillon at GM here in St. Catharines. I enjoyed his great sense of humor and we could always count on a good, humorous story from him at lunch time. He had an unending list of tales from his youth, family life, and of course he never tired of spinning yarns about his beloved Kipawa. Not long before he retired, he brought me a gift, that upon unwrapping, turned out to be a nice blue ‘Kipawa’ tee shirt. He was responding to some small favor I had done for him, repairing a tool from his home woodworking shop. I still have that tee shirt, and it still fits, although the word ‘KIPAWA’ is a little stretched now when I pull it on. Everytime I have worn it I have thought of Dillon. Be assured, I will be wearing it on Wednesday, and I will be thinking of Dillon and his family. God Bless. Gord Hardy

Dear Sharon and Family, Hoping you will remember us – the Uppers and the Maybee’s – Bob and I were so sorry to hear about Dillon, you don’t know how many times through the years I have thought of you both, and even wondered where you were living. Memories are flooding back to our younger days with Dillon courting you from our home on Permilla Street, and of the great times myself, Archie (who past away 4 years ago) and Dillon spent in our teen years dancing away at Pelham Road. May God give you and your children the strength and Peace you will need during this difficult time. Yours most sincerely, Bob and Sharron Upper (Maybee)

Dillon was always so willing with a smile and a helping hand, his generosity extended to so many. He definitely made his piece of the world better and we will miss him. He was my good friend but then if you didn’t consider Dillon your good friend, you just hadn’t met him yet.
