David Wilson Veley After a short illness, David Wilson Veley of Earlton died September 24, 2011, at the Englehart and District Hospital. He was born in Hilliardton on December 11, 1935, to Clarence and Jessie (Knott) Veley. He married Margaret Rose Hearn at the United Church in New Liskeard on September 6, 1957. Mr. Veley was a volunteer fireman for the Haileybury Fire Department in the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s. He worked as a grader operator for the Town of Haileybury during those years and was also a farmer and a heavy equipment operator. Mr. Veley enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. Mr. Veley was always there when needed to lend a helping hand. He loved attending horse draws and helping out with driving teams of horses. He was also a member of the United Church. Mr. Veley is survived by his loving wife Margaret; four children and their spouses; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, parents-in-law, brothers and sister. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends lending their support were from Calgary, Timmins and the surrounding area.
