So sorry for your loss Lorna Mae and family. Chris was such a great person. So innovative and unique. I have fond memories of our friendship, and Chris’ incredible love for his music, and his Hammond Organ. It was fun to be with Chris. He was always a character, and a true comedian. I realize these past few years have been difficult for Chris and for your family, but just know that he blessed so many others in the person he was, and in turn God has a special place for him. I will miss my friend.

Chris was a true friend. He sang at our wedding almost 35 years ago and has always kept in touch. We will miss him so much. He welcomed me into the K.L. musical family when I married Jon. I was always so happy to see him any time we went up. I’m glad he had the opportunity to chat with Jon & I a few months ago. Peace to his family. Stay strong knowing he is no longer in pain. God bless.

We are deeply sorry for the loss of such a great Kirkland Laker. Chris never forgot his musician friends-no matter how much time passed between visits. Having jammed with him on many occasions in the 70’s and early 80’s, those memories will always be cherished. He was one of the funniest and brightest guys that I ever met. Your friend, Gerry Webber

To the Mallette Family,, Lorna Mae Clint and Curt, It was like a hammer to my chest when I heard about Chris’s passing from his brother Brian. i was thinking of Chris not so long ago and thought I should call him ,, I did not and today I am so sorry for putting it off. Chris and I were best friends in high school. We spent so many days together laughing and joking around and playing air guitar in his basement. Long long nights listening to Black Sabbath.. Led Zeppelin.,, Deep Purple,, Uriah Heep,,, you name it ,, the bands back then ruled and we loved all of em.. Chris was an incredibly talented young man,, and very sensitive. His family was extemely generous to me.. and they were like a second family to me.. So many nights I stayed at the Mallette Home because they didn’t want to see me hitchike home in negative degree temperatures. I hope so much that Chris is finally at peace. Until we see each other again bud. let it be known. that all those times together will never be forgotten.. I will miss you tremendously.. and think of you all the time. You were a big part of my life and shaped me in ways you may never know. I am so sorry I didn’t make that phone call.

David Lalonde, le 1 mars 2021

Our deepest heartfelt sympathies on behalf of Sharon,Peter and Grant. I will forever remember Chris’s great guitar playing during our bonfires. He always made everyone have a great time. Goodbye to a great cousin who will be missed by everyone.

I remember being about eighteen years old when I met Chris or “shreddie” to me. Him his son Clint and my friend Joey needed a bass player so they tried me out we jammed and I guess we all had a great time. For that year and a half to two years that we played together I learned the most important lessons in rock’ n roll I have learned yet. He taught me alot. I still to this day remember every song I played with Chris. I used to love being at his place listening to records and talking rock ‘n roll history with him. I had nothing but a great time playing in a band with Chris, he is one of the most intelligent people I have met. I would not be the musician I am if it wasn’t for you. Chris was a man of integrity. To a mentor, friend… I will remember you forever. Lorna Mae, Clint and Curt my thoughts are with you. -Dany.

Dear Lorna & Family: I am so sorry to hear of Chris’ passing. Chris & I were friends in high school. We met through David Lalonde and the Lehti brothers. We used to spend a lot of time with the Lehti brothers (Joe Marooney Band). When I think of Chris from those high school days, I remember his energy, humour and kindness. His kindness reached out again just a few years ago. Chris had read of my mother’s passing in your local newspaper. He called David to let him know of our loss. Chris’ thoughtful gesture and David’s subsequent phone call was a great comfort to me. That is the Chris I remember. Once again, you have my deepest sympathies. With kind regards, Rosemary Mandl Beaton

Lorna-Mae and Family, We extend our sincere condolences to you at this difficult time and please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I had the sincere pleasure of knowing Chris from an early age growing up in Kirkland Lake and it evolved later in life when we both took a similar career path with Veterans Affairs Canada. I will cherish many great memories of Chris during my time with him at Regional Office and at many social events that brought us together…..I always welcomed the opportunity to chat with Chris about the “topic of the day” and you could be sure he would add a dimension you had not thought about…his view on life was always refreshing!! It was a pleasure to have known him!!

To The Mallette Family: So sorry for your great loss. When I think of Chris, my thoughts wander back to Sacred Heart School. I will always remember Chris as being smart and very muscial and a very funny guy. I am sure that all these great traits will live on in his children and grandchildren.

Catherine Wendorf (Connolly), le 1 mars 2021

With tears in my eyes my heart goes out to the family. Chris and I went through Holy Name, Sacred Heart and KLCVI together. Ray, Phil and Lorna Mae my deepest condolence.

Linda Smith-Nychuk, le 1 mars 2021

Deepest condolences to Lorna Mae,Clint,Curt and the Mallette family. Unlike others who have posted here, my friendship with Chris was a brief five years during high school. I will always remember his great sense of humour and his knack for always coming up with a new twist to any mundane topic. I have great memories of our comedic performances at school assemblies. I last saw and spoke to Chris in KL about 10 years ago during one of his one-man show performances at a local hotel. He certainly was a huge contributor to the KL arts community as a musician, an artist and a unique unforgettable personality.

Bryan Bennetts, le 1 mars 2021

Words alone cannot express how I feel about your loss. My prayers are with you during this difficult time.
