It is with deep sadness that the family announces the death of their father, Basile James Joseph Secord. He passed away at the Kirkland Lake District Hospital with family by his side, on January 3rd, 2021 at the age of 85. Predeceased by his parents Herbert Secord and Eva Duval. Devoted husband to our Mother, Anita Deschambault (predeceased) and his second wife, Marcella Maurice Lacroix (predeceased). Beloved Father to Jo-Anne Secord, Michael, Robert (Sharon), John (Ingrid), Terry (predeceased) and Jacqueline Secord. Loving Grandfather to Terry Searles ( Becky), Jemmy Laurin (Clementine), Danielle Callendar (Marc), Jesse and Jonathan Secord, Fernand Recollet (Becky), and Mellissa Recollet (Wayne). Great Grandfather to Dominic Searles (Elizabeth), Nicolas Searles, Madison, Abigail, Benjamin and Emily Recollet, Conner, Lilly and Savannah Recollet and Great Great Grandfather to Meadow Callendar. Dear brother to Laura Charlebois (Bill predeceased), Shirley Garratt ( Bob predeceased ), Stan Secord (Marg), Isabel Biggs (Jim), Richard (Jeanne) and Larry. Lovingly remembered by the many nieces and nephews that knew him. And we cannot forget his best buddy, his fishing buddy that he so much admired in his later years, the late Dick (Richard) Taylor.The family would also like to thank Dr. Sara Kurki and the nurses in Palliative Care for their excellent care of our Dad and their compassion and understanding regarding the needs of the family.Donations for the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.Cremation has already taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held in the SpringOffer Condolence for the family of Basile James Joseph Secord
