Victor Quigley,

VICTOR QUIGLEY,

2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce Victor’s peaceful passing at the Kirkland & District Hospital on August 1, 2011. Victor was a devoted son to the late Angela and William Quigley and was born on May 5, 1926, being their only child. Victor became a resident of Extendicare in the late “90’s early 2000. Because of his illness, he was in and out of Kirkland & District Hospital beginning in September 2001. His home has been the Kirkland & District Hospital since that time. Although he had many obstacles to overcome in life, he was proud of being a member of the Toronto Police Force and cherished his time with the Navy which allowed him to travel and experience different parts of the world. He then, became a photographer for the Toronto Star. Victor had a wonderful sense of humor, loved a great joke, had a great love for life, he was strong willed and carried a positive attitude for being confined to a hospital bed for so many years. Victor also had a great love for classical music and singing his two favorite songs “Everybody loves a sailor” and “You are my sunshine”; he enjoyed reading his mystery and spy novels and if he wasn’t reading he was often seen watching the history channel on television. Victor will be sadly missed by the entire staff, caregivers and physicians of the Kirkland & District Hospital. A celebration of Victor’s life will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the Activity Room on the Fourth Floor of the Kirkland & District Hospital. Donations in Victor’s memory may be made to the Kirkland & District Hospital Foundation (145 Government Road East, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3P4).Offer Condolence for the family of Victor Quigley
