SHUMAN, Thomas Jr. (1957 – 2016)
The family would like to announce the sudden passing of Thomas James Shuman (Tom Jr. / Tommy / Dad), loving father, respected and loved family member. Tom passed away peacefully at his childhood home, here in Kirkland Lake, ON on Friday, December 23, 2016. Tom spent much of his youth in the outdoors, fishing and hunting, as well as playing baseball and hockey. He attended KLCVI as well as Northern College. Tom began his career as a Welder/Fitter in a local fabrication shop, before relocating to Marathon, ON to further his career, taking a position at Williams Gold Mine. He spent the second half of his career as a devoted Health and Safety professional in the mining industry. Tom was also a member of the local Doric Lodge 623. Tom is predeceased by his father Thomas Roy Shuman, and survived by his mother Gertrude Shuman (née McCooeye); his son Jeremy Thomas Lee Shuman; his brother Michael Shuman (Witness); his sister Wendy McLean (Jim) as well as his nieces and nephews; Brandon, Travis, Nathan, Courtney and MacKenzie.
