I was so sorry to hear of Thelma’s passing. I have so many fond memories of Thelma and Harry – they are the last link to my grandfather and my parents spend many hours at the house when I was young. Thelma was a class act. She had great generosity, a vital spirit, and always had time for me as a child. Many times I spent the night when my parents were away and she would bake our “special” cookies. When I was a young grad student studying Kirkland Lake she happened to be at my parents for a visit and just threw me the keys to the house so I would have a place to stay while doing my research. The masks that decorated the wall of the house were no doubt treasures of a visit Thelma and Harry made somewhere, and Thelma would point out that my grandfather had rebuilt one of them when it broke. I never did figure out where the break was! For the last several years Thelma and I were merely X-Mas card exchangers, but it never failed that she would send me one and update me on all that was happening. She will be sorely, sorely missed.
