Henry Edward (Ted) Simmill After having been ill with chronic lung disease, Henry Edward (Ted) Simmill died October 23, 2009, at the Temiskaming Hospital. He was born in New Liskeard on January 8, 1923, to Harry and Maude Simmill. Educated at New Liskeard Public School and High School, he started at Hill Clark Francis as an office boy at the age of 16. He left for Windsor to be the paymaster for Hill Clark Francis when they made wartime houses. Mr. Simmill served in the armed forces from 1940-45 and while overseas married Margaret Craddock in England in 1944. Mr. Simmill went on to take a chartered accountant's course and worked as an accountant for Wicks, Pinewoods and Jack Clark. Mr. Simmill was a member of St. Paul's United Church as well as the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 33. He is survived by his daughter Wendy and son Mike (Aline); grandchildren Justin, Charity, Jessica, Mikey and Kimberly; sisters Florence, Hazel and Dorothy; and brothers David and Grainger. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret and son Paul. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard with the service conducted at St. Paul's United by Reverend Micol Cottrell. A legion service was conducted by Branch 33 of the Royal Canadian Legion. Cremation has taken place. Condolences and donations may be left at www.perrinfuneralchapel.com.
