Stella Josephine (Burant) Holeksa died peacefully at the Sudbury Regional Hospital on April 30, 2011 after a brief illness. She was 83. Mrs. Holeksa was born in 1928 to John and Mary Burant. Many will remember her as a community volunteer for the Englehart Agricultural Society, the Englehart and District Horticultural Society, the Pioneer Club and the Catholic Woman’s League (CWL). Mrs. Holeksa was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband John in 1973, her parents John and Mary Burant and her brother Ambrose. She is survived by her children Bernice (Ken) Duncan, Shirley (Gerry) Gravel, Joanne (Dave) Perry, Joe (Nicole),David (Sharon), and Cathy. She will be fondly remembered by eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Agnes Kajmowicz, Barney (Lorraine) Burant, Florence Mask, Tony (Doreen) Burant and Eddie (Carole) Burant. The funeral service took place at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Englehart on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Father Wayne Mills officiating. Pallbearers were Jason Holeksa, Justin Holeksa, Riley Gravel, Chris Gardiner, Pico Leveille and David Gray. Relatives and friends from Sudbury, Val Caron, St. Catharines, Killaloe, Hamilton, Toronto, Brampton and surrounding area attended the funeral service. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Holeksa may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the charity of your choice.
