STANLEY MATTHEWS,
Stanley Robert Matthews 1942-2007 Stanley Robert Matthews passed away peacefully after a short but courageous battle with cancer on October 7, 2007 at the Kirkland & District Hospital at the age of 65 years. Stan was born in Kirkland Lake and grew up in Chaput Hughes. He worked at various stores in Kirkland Lake but is most fondly remembered for the 24 years he worked at Home Hardware. Stan will be lovingly remembered by his beloved spouse Helen and daughters Laurie (Chris) Smith and Sheri Matthews. He was predeceased by his father Stanley Matthews Sr. and survived by his mother Jessie Fisher. Stan will be sadly missed by his brothers Clifford (Linda) and Pat (Claire) and will be fondly remembered by his many sisters in law, brothers in law, cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Monette & French Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the Monette & French Funeral Home on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Stan will be laid to rest in the family plot in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Matheson.
