BOWES, Shirley Ann – With sadness, we announce Shirley’s passing at Extendicare on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Lina and Joseph Justyna; her brother Joseph Justyna (Jr) as well as her husband Theodore “Ted” Bowes. Survived and lovingly remembered by her children Barb (Wayne) Ward of Alberta, Sandra (Kevin) Audet of Kirkland Lake and Richard Bowes (Lisa Currah) of Port McNicholl. Forever loved by her grandchildren Anitra (Jeff), Jason (Stephanie), Justin, Michel, Trevor, Travis, Sadie and Andrew; her great grandchildren Liam, Aiden, Jacob, Alex, Kelton, Shaily, Jewel, Jayden, Logan, Skye and Berehit. Dearest sister of Pat (Ed) Skalecki and Lauraine (Denis) Gratton. Shirley will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends.Bowes – The family of Shirley Ann Bowes would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our relatives, friends, co-workers, care-givers and the Town of Kirkland Lake for the outpouring of love and support. Thank you for the visits, hugs, kind words, cards, e-mails, Facebook posts, food, flowers and donations in her memory. Thank you to Mr & Mrs. Hastings from the Salvation Army for conducting such a beautiful and thoughtful service. A special thank you to Mamma’s (Anna & Betti Gratton) & Stephanie Belec for the wonderful lunch served following the service. Our deep appreciation goes to French’s Funeral Home for your professional guidance and service that supported us through these difficult days. Special Thanks to Kirkland Lake Hospital & Palliative Care. We will be forever grateful to Extendacare and every caregiver that stepped into that home. They make it their first priority to care for their residents which they do with exceptional kindness, compassion, professionalism and and friendship. “This was no ordinary life. This was a life well-lived and well-loved, a life that will be deeply missed.” Shirley may you rest in peace, back into your heavenly Father’s loving arms again.
