GAMBLE, Samuel – Sam spent his last moments on October 11, 2018 with his wife Karen by his side. He was born in Ottawa to the late John and Helen Gamble but moved to Kirkland Lake as a pre-schooler. He completed high school at Ashbury College in Ottawa with his twin brother, John P. Gamble, and graduated from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, before returning home to work.Sam was a straight shooter and dedicated years of service to his community. He served as a Trustee on the Kirkland Lake Board of Education for two terms and was a town councillor for ten years. He was also a member of the Kirkland Lake Rotary Club, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 87, the CAS Timiskaming Board of Directors and is Past Master of Corinthian Lodge 657.Sam loved a cold drink, a nice sunset on the lake and to play the devil’s advocate in a good political debate. He is predeceased by his parents and his twin brother John. He will be missed by his wife Karen (nee Duffield), his brother David Gamble (Susan), his sisters-in-law Sandra Nelson and Ruth Gamble, his step sons Trevor (Erin), Blair (Mandy) and Neil (Heather) Buchmann, his nephew David (Carlyn) Gamble, his seven grandchildren and his two great nephews. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the caring support of North East Local Health Integration Network, the Palliative Care volunteers, the VON, Closing the Gap Healthcare and the nurses who helped take care of Sam in his final days. As per Sam’s wishes cremation will be held and there will be no funeral or visitation.Donations:
