BERUBE, Roger

1949 - 2022

It is with a heavy heart that the family of the late Roger Berube, announces his passing on October 10, 2022 with his family at his side. Roger was born March 9, 1949 in Godalming Surrey England to the late Eugene and Margaret Berube (nee Hammond).

Also predeceasing him was his step-father Lucien Fiset, sister Georgette and sister Denise Montague.

Left to mourn him are his brothers and sisters Ann (late John Fillion), Shirley (Peter Webb), Henry, Marjelaine (Reg Seaton), Billy (Sharon), and brother-in-law Garry Montague.

Roger will also be greatly missed by his nephew Brent (Leanna) Seaton, nieces Tanya Seaton, Melanie Seaton-Rundle (Curtis), nephew and godson Ian Berube, his little buddies Livi and Matti, his longtime friend Terry Webber, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Following graduation at KLCVI Roger worked at Kerr Addison mine in Virginiatown before embarking on a career with Imperial Oil in Sarnia and Edmonton.

Roger loved his cottage time at Crystal Lake where he spent many summers first with his life long friends Fern and Red Rivard and then with his brothers and sisters and their kids.

Always a northener at heart, when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease Roger moved back to Kirkland Lake to stay with his sister and brother-in-law Marjelaine and Reg Seaton, eventually moving into the South Centennial Manor. It didn't take him long to endear himself to the staff and residents with his sense of humor and his little tricks.

His time at the manor was very special, he made many new friends and the staff went above and beyond in responding to Roger's needs.

Roger left his mark on those who were blessed to have met him, always ready to share a laugh or lend a hand to those who needed help... he will be missed.

Respecting Roger's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. There will be a private family internment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations to the South Centennial Manor Redevelopment Project would be greatly appreciated.

Family & Friends

My Deepest & Most Sincere Condolences To Everybody That Had The Privilege Of Knowing Uncle Roger. Taken Away Way Too Soon & Will Greatly Be Missed. Uncle Roger Was Definitely One Of A Kind. A Very Hard Worker, Intelligent, Witty, & Always Made Every Day Count! I Remember Being Taught (Well,,Shown) The Tricks And How To Read The Numbers Of The Stock Market Before I Was Even A Teenager. I Always Knew There Would Be A Test As We Would Research The Globe And Mail For The Next Pointer & Strategic Financial Move. Uncle Roger's Motto With Me Was Always Work Hard,,Work Lots,,& Play Later. I Never Did Become A Millionaire, But Uncle Roger Was Always Proud Of My Pride, Loyalty & Commitment To The Retail Sector Always Going For The Win! Fun Times, & Lots Of Work Is A Great Memory Of All The Summers Spent And Fully Enjoyed With All The Family @ Crystal Lake. During The Past Few Years, I Really Enjoyed Having Uncle Roger Stay @ My Parents' House As It Was Quite Evident That Uncle Roger Enjoyed One Of His Strongest Attributes,,,Watching The Household Family Share Laughter & Everyday Life Experiences. Though, We Will All Miss That Genuine Smile Deep Belly Laugh & That Famous Line Of His, "What's Happening" , Just Think,,,Uncle Roger Will Be Cheering On His Boston Bruin Hockey Team Alongside His #1 Fav,,,Bobby Orr. :) Much Respect.
