Peters, Robert " Bob "

PETERS, Robert " Bob "

1937 - 2022

It all began on September 27, 1937 when Robert Peters entered this world 11 of 12 children to Alexander & Nina (Clark) Peters in Chamberlain Township.

One to never shy away from hard work, Bob started his life long career in the bush by hauling logs with a team of horses alongside his brothers Calvin & Murray and their father. The 3 boys also spent time watching their parents play the fiddle and piano at nearby township halls, which led to Bob’s love of Bluegrass and country music festivals
that he and Kathy spent their summers attending.

When not busy working as a young adult, he enjoyed playing baseball on the famous Chamberlain Flyers Team. Being the outdoorsman, he took pleasure in the yearly moose hunt, bird hunting & fishing. In his later years he enjoyed the opportunity that retirement provided to spend time ice fishing.

Bob met his soul mate Kathleen (Briggs) & later they marred in November 1962. They then raised 3 children, Shelley St. Onge (Shawn Stevenson), Charlene James (Louis) and Bruce Peters (Leanne). Bob enjoyed the family gatherings, Christmas, BBQ’s, family reunions etc.. with his grandchildren (Jonathon St. Onge, Christian Peters & Mackenzie Peters) snuggled close by where he loved to tell Grampa jokes. He was one of the best story tellers and loved having the opportunity to share them.

Bob was a life long resident of the Englehart Area. You could frequently find him at the local coffee shop sharing his stories and his dry wit.

In his golden years when life slowed down you could find Bob close by Kathy’s side enjoying a good Blue Jays game or a Maple Leafs game depending on the season.

A few words used to describe Dad/Grampa when asked by his children & grandchildren were....
Proud, Dedicated, Stubborn, Funny, Honest, Adventurous, Knowledgable, Helpful, Firm, Impatient, Story Teller & LOVING.
Bob has now returned to be by Kathy’s side once again as he found the last few years a struggle without her here.

Cremation has taken place.
There will be no service as per Bob’s wishes.
