Richard Daniel Harten,

RICHARD DANIEL HARTEN,

2021

HARTEN, Richard Daniel 1947 – 2017:  After a short but courageous battle with cancer with his family by his side, Richard “Bud” Harten was called home at the Anson General Hospital in Iroquois Falls by the creator on Tuesday, October 31st at the age of 70. He was predeceased by his parents Percy and June, his brothers Bill and Chum Harten, his late wife Marjorie Harten and his son Hughie Rodgers. Left to mourn are his partner Rita, his daughters Kathy (Mark), Tasha (Jason), his sons Dan (Alice), Jeff (Roberta), Jason (Erika), Eric (Lisa), Larry and Jacques; his sisters Susan and Noella. Papa will be sadly missed by all his grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Dad loved to hunt, fish and be at camp and would have a good story or 2 involving all 3 with Eric included in the laughs.  A special thanks to Dr. Thomas and all the nurses that looked after our dad. Each and every one of you will be forever in our hearts. AquaCremation has taken place at French Family Funeral Home and he will be laid to rest at the Kirkland Lake Cemetery.  AquaCremation:

I knew “BUD” For 30 plus years. What a great guy. Always humorous and willing to help. A friend to Bill W. and BOB. for many years.

Merdy Armstrong, March 1, 2021

Knowing Bill and Bob were in Buds life makes me happy and helps to soften the blow of hering about his passing. Bill and Bob were still waiting in the Wings when I knew Bud. Even in those days Bud was still a good man and a great friend. Not to mention one of the funniest (beep beep beeps) Ive ever met! Behave up there Bud and dont give God too much grief eh?

It was sad to hear of Richards passing and the journey that Rita and his family will have. I last seen Richard in Sudbury when getting care and he always remained positive and to live to the fullest. Richard was a great tenant and I always enjoyed the chats on the phone and his sense of humor. He loved to talk about camp and taking care of Rita. A hug to Rita from Sharon and I and hope that you hang on to those awesome memories at camp and fishing. Our thoughts to his family also and must always reflect that 70 years is a long time to enjoy his company. Great journeys deserve much rest. Mark & Sharon LeClair Landlords(Church St)

To the Family of Bud Harten, I’d like to add my condolences to those left behind…. As a friend of the family for over forty years, I’ve had the good fortune to share many a good chuckle….( usually at someone else’s expense ) with Bud, as well as a few good memories that cannot be shared…lol…. Rest Easy now Bud, although we will miss you terribly as time goes on, we will always share a spot in our hearts and a smile on our face as we remember you …. with Love always Dave and Carla Laidley.

Kathy, Mark and family. You have our deepest condolences on this tragic loss. It sounds like your Dad was an avid outdoorsman and lived his life doing what he enjoyed. Now he sits up in heaven watching over all of you while he sits back fishing the days away. He will always be by your side. Please know that you guys and the children are in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Ellen and Colin
