It is with deep sadness that the Contant family announces his passing at the Timmins & District Hospital on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the age of 76 years. René leaves to mourn his beloved wife Micheline (née Lavoie) Contant of Virginiatown; loving children Gilles of Rouyn-Noranda, Angeline (Michel Bélanger) of Evain, Aline (Mathieu Gagnon) of Val D’Or, Patrick (Annie Blier) of Rouyn-Noranda as well as Eugene of Virginiatown. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren Christelle, Michael, Pascal, Isabelle, Janick and Alec as well as his cherished great grand-daughter Migane. Predeceased by his parents Romeo and Thérèse (née LaRonde) Contant and siblings Cécile, Roger, Robert and Léo. René is also survived by his sisters Rose, Marguerite, Irene, Carmen, Marie-Jeanne and 1 brother Eugene. The family will welcome relatives and friends at the St-Pierre the Apostle Parish in Virginiatown on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the St.Pierre the Apostle Parish in Virginiatown on Thursday, November 29, 2007 at 12:00 (noon). Donations in René’s memory may be make to the Kidney Foundation (P.O. Box 2200, South Porcupine, ON., P0N 1H0) and to the St-Pierre Apôtre Parish (P.O. Une célébration eucharistique à eu lieu à 12h00 le jeudi 29 novembre, 2007 en la Paroisse St-Pierre Apôtre à Virginiatown. Les dons commémoratifs à la Fondation des Reins (c.p. 2200, South Porcupine, ON., P0N 1H0) et à la Paroisse St-Pierre Apôtre (c.p. 8, Virginiatown, ON., P0k 1X0) seront grandement appréciés.
