It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the death of Rene (Ray) Fournier, of New Liskeard, at the age of 76. Ray passed away peacefully at his home, per his wishes, on July 14, 2016. He will be sorely missed by his wife, JoAnne (née Brazeau), as well as his three children – Randy (Cheryl), Beth and Annette (Tim Somerville). Ray was a loving “Papère” to Shauna and Cailyn. He is survived by his brothers, Ernie (Ruth) and John (Marlene), as well as his sister, Rita Schmidt. Also left to mourn is the Brazeau family, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends and acquaintances. Ray worked as a mechanic for 40 plus years in the Tri Town area. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, #10 809, Ray readily volunteered for various fundraising events and activities. He was also a devoted member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church in New Liskeard and St. Pat’s in Cobalt. He had a great sense of humour, was kind and tender-hearted, a wise man of a fun- loving nature. Some of his favourite pastimes included fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles, building car models, “playing” on the computer, and watching television. A special thank you to Dr. Currie and all the medical caregivers for their aid, support, and attention. A memorial mass will be celebrated by Father Wayne Mills this Friday, July 22, at 11:00 a.m. from Our Mother of Perpetual Help Church, New Liskeard.
