What an awesome man. Met him when he came to visit Victoria in the fall. Went and looked at a 1952 Mercury that I was thinking of making an offer on. Lots of knowledge and would give the shirt off his back for you. I will miss getting to know him better. He mentioned he may come out to Victoria with his truck this summer and go to car shows with Deanna and I. I was looking forward to it and I will miss the experience. Take care “Big Guy”

I am so shocked and saddened by your loss. So grateful Uncle Reg and Nicky came to Victoria to visit with us. We had so much fun and could talk for hours! I got to know him better and was looking forward to a visit from him again this summer as he was considering driving his “rat rod” to the island and coming to a car show with us. What a wonderful loving and caring man. He stands out in a crowd and is an inspiration to truly live in the moment. My condolences to all of you. He loved his family and Nicky very much. He would want me to get that 5 speed in my ’67 firebird and do a little burnout this summer in his honour. Angel hugs, Deanna

My sincere condolences to all of the Smith family. Me and Reggie went to grade school and high school together in North Bay when we were teenagers. Reggie was a real go getter, he was very smart and not afraid to tackle any project no matter how complicated. He amazed me how he could dismantle and reassemble engines, motorcycles, cars, model air planes and just about any thing in between. We will all miss him and his mischevious sense of humor. And oh yes I hear their all racing around up in heaven in Morris Minor car bodies mounted on 39 Ford chassis. He fits in real good up there.

My name is Alain Beaupre and I’ve know the Smith family for a long time now. I just got news of Req passing. It’s total shock to me. I first met Reg in late 70′ when I was in high school. Use to hang around his little shop he had in the back of the house with Terry Ritcher, Norm Sacher, Rick White and a few more that I forgot their names. I use to help him in quite a few of his projects. Some that comes to mind was a lime green dune-buggy, Beige/Brown VW. Help him out the time he was into racing with Rupp snow machine. After I left V-town, we kept in touch. Either he came to my place in Sudbury or I would drop by his place for a visit and talk cars when I was in town to visit my parents. I have many more memories, but do have the space for all it. Like one that comes to mind is when he crashed into my Dad’s garage with a motorcycle. Right thru the front doors. Anyhow. To the Smith family: Rhonda, Holly, Tammy and their families, please accept my sincere condolences. Reg was a very good friend of mine and I will be missing him. Thank you

We were so blessed to have spent time with Reg and Nicki when they were in Victoria a few months ago. Many laughs were shared, family stories learned and I now know where Vance Smith gets his mischievous sense of humour. So saddened to hear of his passing. Sending much love to those left behind.
