Vivian and family
Dear Vivian, Donna, Wayne and Barbara…..We think of you at this time, and know the Lord Ranald loved and served will have him safely home now.
The family announces with sorrow his peaceful passing while surrounded by loving family on February 7, 2023 at Extendicare, Timmins at the age of 83. Devoted husband of Vivian for 56 years, and loving father of Donna Pearson, Wayne McKee and Barbara McKee.
Proud grandfather of Brittney (Shawn) Waters, Jenna (Tyler) Witty, Lauren (Jack) Denommee, the late Jessica Fortier, and great-grandfather to Johnathan, Kelsey, Betty, Finn, Hayden, Hayley, Aden, Jacob, and Jackson.
Born in Restoule, he is predeceased by parents, James Alvin and Mary Jane ‘Jennie’ McKee. After his family relocated to Hamilton, Ontario, Ranald began his long and varied truck driving career. It was there that he met and married his beloved Vivian. Together, they eventually made their way to Northern Ontario, settling in Thornloe, where they raised their three children. Ranald continued his career as a truck driver there, working for Eplett’s Dairy at first, and then for Grant Transport/Miller Paving until his retirement. Although he was a hard worker and loved his job, God and family came first.
In his free time, he enjoyed travelling and visiting with family and friends, working on his hobby farm, cutting, splitting and piling many cords of wood, swimming, and playing aggravation. He had a great sense of humor, and could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere. Ranald was a humble, honest, principled, and God-fearing man, daily reading his Bible, and faithfully striving to follow the teachings of Jesus. He will be remembered as a man of integrity, and a pillar to many. We will forever cherish the time spent with Ranald, and his presence will be sorely missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Extendicare, Timmins, for their exceptional kindness and support during his last months there.

Just heard today of Ranald’s passing and wanted to express our condolences. I remember Ranald when he first came to Hamilton. And remember coming to your apartment on Aberdeen for dinner not long after your wedding.

The path of the just shineth more and more into the perfect day! Another shield hung up in victory. What victory for Ranald! He was a good example for those looking on his life, though he will be missed.

My heart goes out to you.
Wanted to share this with you.
Not how did he die, but how did he live?
Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
These are the units to measure worth
Of a man as a man, regardless of birth.
Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed?
But had he befriended those really in need?
Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer,
To bring back a smile, to banish a tear?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say,
But how many were sorry when he passed away.
You have all been close to our hearts since the passing of Uncle Randall. We’re grateful for good memories in their home many times when that was just what we needed! Just passing on our love and condolences to all mentioned and also grandchildren & families.
