Paula Kalliomäki,

PAULA KALLIOMÄKI,

2021

Kalliomäki, Paula Helena (née Ikäheimo)October, 8, 1939 – January 25, 2017It is with heavy hearts, profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Paula, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving and adoring family, including her granddaughter Trista from Hayward, WI. Paula is now reunited with her loving mother, Sigrid Ikäheimo. Paula was a loving wife to her husband Peter of 55 years, cherished mother of her only daughter, Helen, beloved grandmother of Trista (Ty) Wiley and Amber Hollett and great-grandmother of Eden, the apple of Paula mummo’s eye. Paula also leaves to mourn her brother Keijo (Seija) Ikäheimo and sister Satu (Tapio) Ikäheimo-Tuovinen, both of Finland. She will forever be missed by her son-in-law John Jargiello who thought the world of her and also by her “other” daughter as Mom always said of Michelle Cowie, the world’s greatest and loving nurse and friend.Mom will be remembered for her doilies and socks she loved to crochet or knit. Her sewing skills were second to none. Paula was employed at the Kirkland & District Hospital for over 25 years and had fond memories and stories to share. Mom enjoyed baking, especially with her most cherished daughter Helen and her granddaughters too. Mom enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, playing cards and board games. Mom loved the outdoors and spent much of her time walking, skiing, gardening and relaxing at the cottage and in the sauna. Paula made many trips back to her homeland, Finland but was always happy to return back home to her family here.We will miss you dearly but will always cherish our memories. Missed but never forgotten. Mom was a true “angel” who has been asked to return to heaven. God has you in His arms; I have you in my heart. As per Paula’s wishes, Aqua Cremation has taken place at FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM (111 Burnside Dr. Kirkland Lake, ON, P2N 3L1). A Celebration of Paula’s Life will take place in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Paula may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (1300-2300 Yonge St. Toronto, ON., M4P 1E4 – http://heartandstroke.on.ca/).Gone but not forgotten. Love always, Peter, Helen, Trista, Amber, and Eden xxoo.Condolences, donations, and ordering of flowers may be made on-line at www.frenchfamily.caOffer Condolence for the family of Paula Kalliomäki
