– It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Pasteur Vaillant in Sudbury at Health Sciences North after a brief illness on Sunday, July 27, 2014. Pasteur was predeceased by his father J.P. Rodrigue “Rod” Vaillant in 1989 and his mother Françoise (née Grenier) Vaillant in 2010. Survived by his sisters Hélène (née Vaillant) Palumbo (Ken Dolmage) and Chantal St-Pierre all of Kirkland Lake; his nephews Paul Palumbo, Julian (Amanda) Palumbo, Jamaël St-Pierre, Stéphane St-Pierre, Jordan St-Pierre and nieces Sabrina (Shawn) Lachapelle, Mélodie St-Pierre and also by five great nieces and nephews Michael, Elliot, Joseph, Michel, Avah and Kael. Also dearly missed by his best friend; his dog Bébé. Pasteur touched many young lives as he taught for the catholic school board in Timmins for a number of years. The family will welcome friends at the FRENCH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME (111 Burnside Drive, Kirkland Lake, ON P2N 3L1) on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Paroisse Assomption at 11:00 a.m. with Father H. Touaboy officiating. Donations in Pasteur’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation (2300 Yonge Street, Suite 1300, Toronto, ON M4P 1E4) or to Health Sciences North Foundation (foundation@hsnsudbury.ca, 41 Ramsey Lake Road, Sudbury, ON P3E 5J1).Offer Condolence for the family of Pasteur Vaillant

My condolences to Monsieur Vaillant family. He was also my grade 5 teacher at St-Charles. I have many great memories of Monsieur Vaillant, he was the teacher that had the most positive impact in my life. He was such an amazing person. I am truly heartbroken and I will forever remember him.

Condolences to the family. Mr. Vaillant was my teacher in grades 7 and 8 at St-Gerard school in Timmins in the late 70’s. He was an interesting and entertaining teacher for sure. He also took some of his personal time after classes to organize sports activities for students who were interested and even played the sports with us. Although this was many years ago he still addressed me by name when I saw him not that many months ago in Timmins. May he rest in peace.
