RICHARDSON, Norman Albert

1966 - 2012

Norman Albert Richardson died at his home in Englehart on June 6, 2012. He was born in Kirkland Lake on July 19, 1966, to John and Vera Richardson. He was educated at Kirkland Lake Collegiate and Vocational Institute and at Cambrian College. Mr. Richardson wore several hats: he was a miner, surveyor, project manager and mine superintendent. Most recently he was employed in human resources at Kirkland Gold. Mr. Richardson truly enjoyed life to the fullest. He had a positive demeanor and was very kind to everyone he met. He enjoyed gathering with family in Toronto on several occasions and travelled to see family and friends in Northern Manitoba. He and his fiancée Victoria met during a Ham radio event in 2008. During this time they travelled together to conventions and related events, enjoying interaction with crowds. He very much enjoyed cooking, fishing trips, ice fishing and hunting. He first started off with CB radio at the age of 15 and obtained his full Ham Radio Licence (VE3NLH) at 21. He was an avid user and advocate of Ham and was known around the world. Mr. Richardson is survived by his sister Juanita Richardson (Matti Jalakas); brother Neil Richardson (Tana); nieces and nephews Leah, Heather and Kevin Richardson, August, Natalie and Julius Jalakas; and fiancée Victoria Svatina. He was predeceased by his parents John and Vera Richardson. Family and friends gathered to celebrate Mr. Richardson’s life on June 10. Cremation has taken place. In memory contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. Condolences, contributions and memorial candles may be left at www.mcdonaldfuneralhome.ca.
