The family announces with sadness the passing of Norah Megan Reade at the age of 92 years at The Village of Winston Park in Kitchener. She passed away peacefully on Monday, May 10, 2010. She will be sadly missed by her children, Clive (Jo-an) of Baden and Robert (Barbara) of Timmins. Dear grandmother of Darrin, Kristie, Stephanie and Greg along with ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her mother, father and five brothers and sisters in England. Born in New Castle Ontyne, England, Norah met and fell in love with Bill Reade during the Second World War. Norah came to Canada as a War Bride in 1946 and made Kirkland Lake her home. She was very active in the community, working for several years at the J-Mar Plywood Factory and enjoying her summers at the cottage on Lake Kenogami. Norah will be remembered for her devotion to family and her great sense of humour. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren, which she spoke of with great pride. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Monette & French Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with The Reverend Edna Murdy officiating. Norah will be laid to rest in the Kirkland Lake Cemetery. I wish to offer my sincere condolences to Bob & Clive and their families in this time of sorrow . Growing up next door on Tower street was like having a second mom . She was a great lady who inspired many with her energy and zest for life. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her May God bless you and give you comfort at this time
