BOWES, Morley Edward

1939 - 2022

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Morley Bowes on November 20, 2022, at the age of 83. Morley passed away peacefully, at the Kirkland and District Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Morley is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara (Quade), sons Dean, Kirk, and Shawn (Bonnie), cherished grandchildren Brendan, Ethan and Sydney, sisters Darlene Stewart (Randy), Judy Murtha (Bill), and many brother-in-laws, sister-in laws, and nieces and nephews, from both the Bowes and Quade families. He was predeceased by his parents Alice and Edward Bowes.

Morley was a dedicated family man. He always enjoyed time spent with family and was there for advice and a skilled hand when help was needed. He enjoyed many hobbies including woodworking, motorcycles, mechanics, and photography. Morley had a long career. He started out working for engineering companies in Pembroke and then North Bay before spending the majority of his career with the Town of Kirkland Lake. He started as Director of Planning and
Engineering, and eventually retired as Chief Administrative Officer after 34 years. He spent retirement splitting his time between Kirkland Lake and his cottage.

Morley’s warm nature, easy smile, positive outlook on life and his great conversations will be missed by many. We are thankful for being part of his life and we will miss him forever.

Morley's family

It was always nice to chat with Morley when he would come in to pay his water bill. He would stop in my office and we'd talk about the cottage and the grandkids. He will be missed. Sincerest condolences.
