COURCHESNE, Maurice

1920 - 2011

After an 11 month illness, Maurice Courchesne of New Liskeard died April 3, 2011, at Tri-Town Extendicare Nursing Home. He was born in Belle Vallée on May 12, 1920, to Stanislas Courchesne and Marguerite Dessere. Educated in Belle Vallée, he married Aurore Goudreault there on October 26, 1943. Mr. Courchesne was a carpenter who worked for John Clark (Hill, Clark and Francis) for 38 years. He liked to play music at parties and weddings. He was also a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Predeceased by five brothers and five sisters, Mr. Courchesne is survived by his wife Aurore; children Gertrude (Murray) Morrow, Ernest (Germaine) Courchesne, Rose (Bob) Legros, Henri (Solange) Courchesne, Aurel (Rochelle) Courchesne, Margot (Gaston) Lachapelle, Raymond Courchesne, Solange (J.C.) Coté, Madeleine MacDougall, Paul (Pierrette) Courchesne, Rheal Courchesne, Normand Courchesne, Denis (Carole) Courchesne and André (Bonnie) Courchesne; sister Alice Gravel and sister-in-law Lucille Courchesne. The funeral was arranged by Perrin Funeral Chapel in New Liskeard where the service was conducted by Father Richard Ngoy. Pallbearers were Simon Chartrand, Allan Legros, Stephane Lachapelle, Tina Courchesne, Julie Beaulac, Patrick Courchesne, Eric MacDougall and Mathew Courchesne. Burial is in Belle Vallée. Relatives and friends attending the service from out of town came from Toronto, Ottawa, London, Timmins, Sturgeon Falls, Gatineau (Quebec), Kapuskasing, Georgetown and Connaught.
