1918 - 2011

In loving memory of Mrs. Mary Wallace who died peacefully at Englehart & District Hospital, on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the age of 93. She was born in South Mindoka on March 1, 1918 to William and Barbara Duncan. Mary attended school in Boston Creek and South Mindoka. She married Ernie Wallace in 1937 and lived in Englehart all her life, working at Thib`s Red and White store and Woollings Food Master. Mary was an avid bridge player and will be missed terribly by her bridge club. She also enjoyed playing aand later watching curling. Mary also loved doing the crossword puzzles and sudokas, waiting patiently for the paper each day. Ernie and Mary travelled the world together visiting every continent except the Antarctic; Mary finally went to the Antarctic when she was 89 years of age with her daughter Gail. Pre-deceased by her husband Ernie, son Duncan, her brothers, Jim, Walter, John and Arthur and her sister Esther. She is survived by her daughters Barbara (Gordon McCloskey), North Bay, Gail (Glenn Rowlandson) Ajax, son John (Nina) Wallace, Englehart, her daughter-in-law Jane Wallace, Englehart, her sister Jean Olsen, Sudbury, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The family of the late Mrs. Mary Wallace will receive friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, Englehart, Wednesday, September 7, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul`s Presbyterian Church on Thursday, September 8, at 2:00 pm. Stephen Wuerch officiating. Interment to follow at the Englehart Cemetery. In memory contributions to the Englehart Elevator Fund or St. Paul`s Presbyterian Church will be greatly appreciated.
