JENSEN, Mark Shawn
1960 - 2025
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Mark Shawn Jensen on March 14, 2025. Mark was born on September 23, 1960. Born and raised in the Kirkland Lake region. He was an avid outdoorsman. His love for animals allowed him to become an advocate and co-founder of Pets in Distress – North America. He worked at Kirkland Lake District Hospital in the dietary department for many years. He was a proud fireman of the Larder Lake dispatch for a few years.
He was predeceased by his parents Anita Szack and Donald Jensen. And siblings, Judy Weaving, Wendy Weeks, and Jody May.
He leaves behind his children Joe Jensen, JudyAnn (Stephane) Jensen, and his beloved dog Lady. Siblings, Don (Evelyn) Jensen, Shelly (Rolly) St. Jean, Deborah (Paul) Techlowicz, Chris Szack, and Peter Szack. Along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
As per Mark’s wishes there will be no service at this time. He will be cremated and laid to rest in Kirkland Lake cemetery.

I talked with Mark many timed sbout his love of animals and his working for them . Mark's passing is a true loss. May his memories be daily.

please accept my heartfelt condolonces on the passing of my childhood friend. mark was a kind and loving person and always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he met. we spent may days together when were younger. always had a sense of humour and a heart of gold. may all your memories stay close to your heart and hoping you find strength in them. until we meet again , my thoughts with the family.

We're so sorry for the loss of your dad. We know he did his best for you. We hope the good memories help you to get through this difficult time. Please know you are loved and thought of through this time. He will be in your hearts. We have fond memories of him. Rest well, Uncle Mark. We're proud of him for his service to the community and animals, as well as that every Remembrance Day posts he'd share about Great Grandpa Grenier and visit his place of rest. We love you all lots.
