HEARN, Marilyn

1953 - 2011

Marilyn Hearn (nee Winters) died tragically on March 4, 2011. Born in Englehart on November 21, 1953, to Ellis and Arvilla (Rooney) Winters, Mrs. Hearn brought joy to the lives of everyone she met. Her compassion for others brought her to work as an educational assistant with special needs students. She loved her job and touched the lives of countless students, parents and staff and will be remembered for her beautiful smile, laugh and her inspiring commitment to her job. She worked tirelessly with her students and proudly retired from New Liskeard Public School in 2009. Mrs. Hearn loved being with her family most of all. She doted on her children and grandchildren and loved nothing more than spending time with them. It never seemed to matter to her whether she was on vacation with the family in Florida, painting her daughter's new house, or changing the grandkids' diapers -- as long as she was with (and taking care of) her family, she was content. She was the selfless head of her family and there are simply no words to describe how terribly she will be missed. Mrs. Hearn is survived by Terry, her loving husband of 38 years; her son Tyson and her daughter Lori (Matt Bell); grandchildren Ethan and Naomi; siblings Linda (John Charlton), Retta (Dennis Bolger) and Randy (Wendy Ing); and loving aunt to Jeremiah and Jarrett Charlton, Sarah and Shannon Bolger, Avery and Landen Winters. Visitation will be held at Perrin Funeral Chapel on March 10 from 7-9 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Friday, March 11, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church in New Liskeard. In lieu of flowers, and to honour Mrs. Hearn's passion for children with special needs, donation to the Easter Seals Society would be appreciated by the family.
