Marie-Laure passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her husband Adolphe; parents Laure-Eva & Stanislas Messier brothers; Yvon, Gérard, Ernest and Lucien. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lucille; brothers Jean, Gaston, Gaetan, Leonil and Fern as well as sisters; Mariette, Laurette, Cécile, Francoise, Yvonne et Hélène; children René (Rita) Alarie, Jean (Thérese) Alarie, Irene (Leonard) Savarie, Alice (Loney) Kent, Gerry (Donna) Alarie, Rosaire (Lucienne) Alarie, Aline (Ed) Kent, Jeanne (Denise) George, Noel (Maryse) Alarie, Lucienne (Ron) Bastarache, Rita (Raymond) Marcotte, Marcel (Laura) Alarie, Noella (Jim) Stroud, Giselle (Robert) Samiel, Jackie (Lionel) Boucher, Maurice (Donna May) Alarie and Leo (Rae-Ellen) Alarie. She will be lovingly remembered by her 35 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 28 step grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. Marie-Laure’s family will honour her life during a gathering at the French Family Funeral Home on Friday, October 9, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. followed by a Celebration of her Life at 12:00 p.m. at Paroisse Assomption. A time of fellowship & refreshments will follow in the Parish Hall. Marie-Laure will be laid to rest in the St-Laurent Cemetery at a later time. Chers cousins et cousines, C’est avec grand chagrin que j’ai appris le décès de Marie-Laure. Durant mon enfance à Kirkland Lake, Marie-Laure est souvent venue nous rendre visite chez-nous et c’était toujours si agréable de la voir, elle et son beau sourire. J’ai eu l’occasion de passer du temps avec elle à Extended Care durant les années où elle y fût résidente. Lors de mon récent passage à KL, je suis allée à Extended Care par trois fois mais je l’ai toujours trouvée endormie. Je regrette ne pouvoir me rendre aux funérailles mais j’y serai en pensée.
