After a short illness, Malcolm (Mac) Scott died at Sudbury Regional Hospital, on Friday August 20, 2010 at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife Mary, 5 children Diane Scott (Al Bulley) of Kenogami, Dick (Vicki) of Belmont, Steve (Lena) of St. Thomas, Doug (Lucy Gauthier) of Haileybury, and Ginny (George Peever) of North Bay. 9 grandchildren Jason (Tanya) Scott, Stephanie (Justin Miller), Maxine (Brian Samson), Bradley Peever, Maryanne and Heather Scott, Chantel (Dennis Darlow), Stephan (Suzanne) Gauthier, Jennifer (James Adshead) and 12 great grandchildren. Mac was also survived by 1 sister Muriel Service of Shelbourne, 2 brothers, Victor Scott of Dorchester & Jack Scott of Englehart. Mac was born in Evanturel Twp., September 11, 1927 to Ed & Addy Scott. He attended the one room school house in Evanturel Twp. Mac began work as a sawyer for the family business, Scott Brothers, until 1967 when he was hired at the Adams Mine as a maintenance mechanic. In 1990 he retired from the mine to continue working at his own planning mill with his wife Mary for two more years when he truly began to enjoy retirement. In his later years he enjoyed puzzles, watching birds and sitting in his lounge chair under the cedar trees. Service was conducted at the McDonald Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Wuerch. Pallbearers were Mac’s grandchildren, Jason Scott, Stephanie Miller, Maxine Samson, Bradley Peever, Maryanne & Heather Scott.
