HILL, Mabel Jane Johanna
Mabel Hill (nee Jack), wife of the late George Hill passed away peacefully at the Temiskaming Hospital on May 10, 2011. She was born on January 13, 1931 to Hugh and Lucy (Rooney) Jack. Mabel and George were married on January 13, 1949 and together they built their farm in Hilliard Township. She is survived by their four children: Trevor, Joanne, Fred and Jack and grandchildren Ashley and Kassandra, Rebecca, Cole, Jillian and Mason, Megan and great-grandson Landon. Mabel is also survived by her sister Margaret Smith and brother John Oliver Jack. She was predeceased by her siblings, Florence Dudgeon, Allen, Arnold, Joe, Neil and Henry Jack and Bernice Smith. Until her illness over the last year, Mabel was a proud farmer and gardener. She enjoyed reading, canning, blueberry picking with Joan, walks with Sharon, and her dogs, Charlie and Jiggs. Mabel worked several years at the local McDonalds and then volunteered at The Clothing Donation with Mary in Englehart. She will be sadly missed by many friends and neighbours. Many thanks to Dr. Goddard and the Temiskaming Hospital staff for their excellent care, kindness and support. A Memorial Service was held on May 14, 2011 at McDonald Funeral Home in Englehart.
