Linda Sinclair,

LINDA SINCLAIR,

2021

SINCLAIR, Linda Theresa – It is with deep sadness that we announce Linda’s passing at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto on January 3, 2012 with family at her side. Linda was born in Kirkland Lake on February 22, 1941 to the late Mrs. Mary (née Flaxy) and Laurence Demerse. Linda was a loving and caring mother to Christina Sinclair, Kyle (Stephanie) Sinclair and Don (Susannah Morrison) Sinclair. Dearly missed by her precious grandchildren Rhian, Sydney, Madeleine, Rowan, Hugh. Also sadly missed by her brother Bob (Lois) Demerse and her sister-in-law Wilma Demerse. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Laurence Demerse; her siblings Lorne and Donald Demerse. Linda was employed at Northern College as an Executive Assistant where she remained for nearly 30 years. Linda spent most of her life in Kirkland Lake until 1998; she relocated to be with her daughter in Mississauga. She enjoyed watching sports, especially her Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Her real love and passion was for her children and grandchildren. She was a “Nana” who was always involved and took interest in everything that they enjoyed. Linda will be missed especially at the lake where she spent many hours and where the family shared many fond memories, which will remain in our hearts forever. The family will welcome friends at the MONETTE & FRENCH FUNERAL HOME (450 Government Road West, Kirkland Lake, ON., P2N 3L1) on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. in the “Teck-Hughes” Chapel of the funeral home. Donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (61 Main St. Kirkland Lake, ON. P2N 3E4) or to the Princess Margaret Hospital (610 University Ave. Toronto, ON. M5G 2M9).Offer Condolence for the family of Linda Sinclair

Scrappy on the basketball court and ball field, competitive, a gifted athlete, so much fun to spend time with, a great and loyal friend…that was Linda. KLCVI yearbooks reveal that she was a member of both the junior and senior volleyball and basketball teams throughout her high school career; in fact, Linda was the basketball team’s high scorer every single year- no teammate was even close! We had such fun on bus trips to Kap and Cochrane and Timmins, at school dances and the Orange Hall, Twirp dances and house parties. From all accounts, Linda demonstrated the same qualities of caring and commitment and determination and courage and strength she demonstrated in high school, to her battle these past few years. Her spirit will live on in her children and grandkids.

Dear Don & family, We were so sad to read about your mum’s death in the Northern News. We did not know she was ill. Linda was a beautiful, dependable, fun lady, always willing to help others. We have so many wonderful memories of our experiences with the Linda and the 1609 Army Cadets in Kirkland Lake. She was so well thought of at the college as well. Please accept our deepest sympathy. We are thinking about you all. Doug & Wendy van Vianen, Summerland, B.C.
