Leopold "Leo" Ducharme It is with great sadness that the family announces his passing at the Temiskaming Hospital on December 11, 2008 at the age of 72 years. Beloved husband of the late Cécile Ducharme(Rheaume). Survived by dear partner Marie-Ange Cloutier. Loving father of Louise (Burl) Régan, Diane (Mike) Jibb, Gaetan Ducharme, Huguette (Brian) Pedersen. Very proud Pépère of nine grandchildren: Rikki Regan; Jessica (James) Paterson, Shannon, Jason and Sheldon Jibb; Adèle and Felix Ducharme; Jessy and Shawn Pedersen; and great granddaughters Vanessa and Lauren Paterson. Predeceased by his parents Cléo and Florence (Regimbald) Ducharme; his son Richard; and brothers Paul and Roger Ducharme. Dear brother of Gérald (late Virginia) of Earlton, Albert (friend Lise) of Sherbrooke, QC, Rita Germain (late Léon) and Jeannine Falardeau both of Chelmsford, Marguerite Lafreniere (friend Serge) of Chibougamou, QC, Yvette Lacroix (late Theobald) of Iroquois Falls, Claude (friend Georgette) of Notre Dame du Nord, QC, Omer (Florence) of Earlton, and Odette (Hubert) Lavallee of Sudbury, sisters-in-law Jeanne (late Paul) Ducharme of Notre Dame du Nord, QC and Françoise (late Roger) Ducharme of Chelmsford. Leo was a long time resident of Earlton and in later years Casey Township. He worked for a number of years for the Township of Armstrong as a grader and snowplow operator and later as road foreman. He then purchased a backhoe and dump truck and operated his own excavating business until his retirement. He was a fiddle player and in the last few years played in nursing homes and old aged homes. He loved to entertain the residents. His family will remember him as a loving father, dedicated to his family, a hard worker, always smiling, telling jokes and a great prankster. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Perrin Funeral Chapel. Funeral mass was held on December 15, 2008 at Église Sacre Coeur of New Liskeard with Father Richard Ngoy officiating. Spring interment will follow at the St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Earlton. The family would like to thank Doctor Pat Logan and Doctor Céline Leger-Nolet for their excellent care and compassion during his illness. Very special thanks to Lynn Baldovin of the day medicine clinic at the Temiskaming Hospital for all her care and kindness shown during the last year. Special thanks to Nicole Lachapelle-Toupin, home care nurse, for her kindness and care, as well as the excellent care received from the nursing staff at the Temiskaming Hospital during his stay this past week. Memorial contributions to Camp Quality or the Day Medicine at Temiskaming Hospital would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
