LAURA PAULINE LAMPI,

2021

LAMPI, Laura Pauline (nee Erickson), June 24, 1917 – Jan 17, 2019: Passed away in the Ottawa Heart Institute after a brief illness.  Predeceased by her husband John and sisters Esther Pulkkinen and Sylvi Hiller.   Survived by her loving children Brian (Elisabeth) of Stittsville, Ontario and Bob (Janice) of Chapeau, Quebec, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her loving sister Helvi Longworth of Mississauga, Ontario.Mom was very active all her life and enjoyed skiing, golf and walking.  She was especially fond of swimming at the complex in Kirkland Lake when it opened and she continued swimming after her move to Ottawa at the age of 88.  She was a fan of figure skating, swimming and the Olympics (team Finland!). She became an avid hockey fan of all Canadian teams and Finnish players. Mom was fiercely independent and enjoyed doing all of her own shopping.  She loved her family and moved to Ottawa to be closer to them and was so happy with the move.  Mom was a real Kirkland Laker at heart though, and always spoke of how much she enjoyed herself and her friends there. In respect of her wishes there will be no funeral.  A private interment will take place in the Kirkland Lake cemetery in the spring of 2019.Offer Condolence for the family of Laura Pauline Lampi

Taking Laura to Brian’s place was always an enjoyable trip. She was so perky and full of information. The trip just seemed to fly by.
