BLANCHARD, Kathleen "Kay"

1927 - 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kathleen “Kay” Blanchard of North Cobalt. She passed away peacefully at Extendicare Tri-Town Nursing Home on August 27th, 2022 at the age of 94.

She was loved very much and will be greatly missed.

She was born in St-John, N.B., to George and Helen Leaman (Hibbert) on November 9th, 1927. Kay was predeceased by her brothers Robert (Marie) Leaman, James (Betty) Leaman, Lawrence (Dorothy) Leaman, Charles (Marilyn) Leaman, sisters Emma (David) Clark and Sheila (James) Spieght.

Kathleen “Kay” is survived by her beloved husband Joseph Albert Blanchard of 72 years. Survived and deeply loved by her four daughters Colleen and son-in-law Ronald Wilton, late Christine and son-in-law Wayne Harrison, Sharon and son-in-law late Tom Metcalf, Abby, and son-in-law Douglas Smythe; her grandchildren Scott Wilton, Rhonda (Matt) Brain, Robbie (Linda) Harrison, Tisha Harrison, H. Clinton Metcalf, Richard (Angela) Metcalf, Meghan (Will) Jefferey and many great grandchildren who adored her immensely.

Kay loved to bowl in her earlier years, play bingo and “beat” you at playing crib and poker, watching game shows and old movies, sitting at the kitchen table watching the birds and visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At this time, we would like to thank Dr. Davies and the staff at Extendicare Tri- Town for their excellent care and support.
