As dawn kissed the horizon on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, Judith Lorraine Thompson, age 66, with loved ones at her side, drew her last peaceful breath at the Ottawa General Hospital as the Lord called her home into his eternal care.

Beloved mother of Julie Laderoute and her husband Kourosh Khosravi and cherished grandma of Nahum Khosravi, all of Deep River. Judy will be greatly missed by her sisters-in-law Darlene Thompson (Whitehorse) and Sharon Chaput and brother-in-law Durrell Chaput of Westmeath. Loving lifelong friend and cousin Ann Mykolyshyn of Rapides des Joachims, Quebec. Cherished and much-loved Aunt of Sean Thomas, Tracey Bergermann and Christie Thompson, and Terran and Devon Chaput and their families. Predeceased by niece Jennifer Everly and nephew Chad Thompson. Judy leaves behind many family members who truly love and esteem her.
Judy was a spitfire with a great sense of humour. Nothing slowed her down. Despite her declining health, she courageously maintained a positive attitude and tenacious spirit. “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me” being her motto. Her kind and generous soul was shared with anyone she met in Kirkland Lake and beyond. An attractive beam of light, Judy is leaving a beautiful legacy of faith, love, and loyalty as she impacted lives as far as the extended family in the Middle East. Judy was a wonderful friend and will be greatly missed by her cherished neighbours, friends and colleagues. Thank you Linda Wilson, Norman Teague and Arlene Black for your steadfast support, love and care over the years.
Born and raised in Deep River, Judy went on to graduate from Algonquin College in Pembroke as a Registered Nurse in 1975. Her 30 plus year nursing career took place in Kirkland Lake where she excelled in her profession and completed her career working in Education, Infection Control and Employee Health. Judy was a force of kindness and will be remembered by family, friends, colleagues, care workers, and patients whose lives she deeply touched.
Celebration of Life will be held July 2, 2022 at 11:30AM in Kirkland Lake, Ontario at French Family Funeral Home (111 Burnside Dr.).
