RIOPEL, Jean Pierre

Jean-Pierre Riopel. In loving memory of Jean-Pierre Riopel who passed away at his home in New Liskeard on Sunday September 22, 2013 at the age of 84 after a four year battle with cancer. Jean-Pierre was born in La Reine Quebec to the late Noël and Aurore Riopel. on January 31, 1929. He was educated in Clerval Quebec and moved to New Liskeard in 1958, where he worked as a mechanic. Later on in life Jean-Pierre took up wood working, wood carving, computers, and the pursuit of higher education. He was also an active member of Knights of Columbus # 1398. Left to mourn are his partner Gisèle Fontaine, children Jean-Guy, Pierrette (Mrs. Bruce Smith),and Celine, Grandchildren, Chad, Wesley and Ryan. His brothers and sisters Bernadin, Rolland, Claudette, Yolande, Alexandre, Marc, Luc, Normand, Lise, and Réal. Predeceased by his parents Noël Riopel and Aurore Bégin, and his siblings Paulette and Rosaire. A memorial service will take place Friday September 27, 2013 in Ste-Jeanne D'Arc de Clerval, Quebec at 1:30 p.m. with a luncheon to follow.
