Dear Bev, Ron, Jerry and all the the Talbot siblings, so sad to hear about John’s passing. I am still stunned to hear that he is gone. The last time I spoke with John was when he came to my brother Tommy’s celebration of life service. He looked so good, strong and healthy. He was always there for my family and always with such kind words and comfort. He will be forever missed. Just knowing him and Bev has been such a blessing in my life. Dear Bev & Family I am so sorry to hear of the loss of a dear man such as John. He was a good neighbour. He always greeted me with a smile and a lot of colourful stories to brighten up the day! I am sure he will be missed by many, including me. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Talbot family at this mournful time.

Sincere sympathy to the Talbot family. Jean Guy was a bit older than Lois and I, but we knew the whole family well, living one over from Sniders. I have so many fond memories of playing in their yard. They taught me how to say all their names in French. Too many great memories to say in this space. I cherish growing up in Federal with all the Talbot family. RIP Jean Guy

I was so shocked to learn of John’s passing. I had not seen him over the winter, which was unusual, but I figured that he was at Extendicare spending time with Bev. He was always up to date with what was going on in & around KL, especially our Federal area, always good for a laugh & a chat. Heartfelt sympathy & condolences to Bev, Jerry, Ron, his sisters & brothers & families. John will be missed by many. May he Rest in Peace.

The Danis family grew up across the street from the Talbots on federal Street, and were the most honourable and dedicated family, I have the upmost respect for them, and the most cherished memories growing up across the street. In recent years when I would run into Jean Guy he was always upbeat and full of energy, he always left me with positive energy. We will all miss Jean Guy, please accept our condolences.

Another old federal neighbour to miss! Always enjoyed talking with John and really enjoyed going hunting with him and Mike when I was a teenager . One of the older guys who helped the kids grow up with good family values. THANK – YOU my friend !

We knew him as Uncle John We would go up in the summer and visit him and Aunt Bev. It was always so much fun and so many different surprises. We love going down into his basement and exploring. Or just sitting listening to him talk. I remember when my father died (Dennis Wheeldon) Uncle John was one of the first people I saw, when I walked into the funeral home. It had been years, but he gave me the best hug Rest in peace thanks for so many memories Thinking of you all Lisa Perry ( Wheeldon )

My sincere condolences to the family. I remember when I was younger, everytime we went to visit our grand parents in Kirkland Lake, we would visit Uncle John and Aunt Bev. He will be missed.

My sympathies to the family. I knew Jean Guy since childhood when the Talbot family was growing up six houses down from where John was living until present. For many years John shovelled and sanded the bus stop in front of his place. There was a great pile down at the end of Federal Street in front of Mrs. Beaton’s old house. Only in Kirkland Lake could someone actually get fined for shovelling snow! John loved picking berries although he always claimed never to eat them. Ahead of his time, he tried to get dog owners to control their pets. He will be missed in the old Federal. Je vous prie de bien vouloir accepter mes très vives condoléances.
