Jackie Corley died peacefully, in her home of sixty-five years, on February 8, 2013. Jackie was born to Jack and Jane(Lariviere)Cayen in Hull, Quebec, but moved to Kirkland Lake and then Brentha Twp. as a young child, when her father came to work in the mines. She married Eric Corley in 1948 and they raised their seven children on their farm; Maureen(Jim) Goddard; Ingrid; Chauncey(Ingrid); Lynn(Cecil) Coutts; Erica; Tim(Debbie); Tammy(Bruce) Niemi. She is Grandma to fifteen grandchildren and Great Grandmother to seventeen. She was predeceased by her husband, Eric and her daughter, Ingrid; by her sisters Mabel(Albany) Lacarte; Mary Jane(Reg) Lavigne; Georgette(Jim) Grant and brothers Archie Cayen, Romeo(Betty) Cayen, and Jackie Cayen. She loved to fish, both in winter and summer; she and Eric and their son Tim spent many hours doing just that in area lakes. She could be ready to take a trip on a moments notice and she had a lovely revisit to Ireland last year with her daughters, Lynn and Tammy. Jackie was an faithful congregant of her church, Christ Church in Englehart; she also volunteered in the Thrift Shop at Darlington Hall. She volunteered for `Meals on Wheels. Jackie was an avid card player and at one time played several times a week. Jackie was a member of Branch 104 Legion and was very proud this year to have been presented with her forty-five year pin. Jackie loved nothing more than a visit and a cup of tea with many friends, neighbours, and family who made her home one of their regular stops. A memorial Service will be held at the Christ Church Anglican on Saturday February 16, 2013 at 11:00am. Rev. Linda White officiating.
