Irene Patricia Mary Chartrand Mino nee Rozon
It is with great sadness and sorrow the family announces the passing of Irene Patricia Mary Chartrand Mino (nee Rozon) on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Teck Pioneer Residence surrounded by her family.
Mom was born on June 10, 1932 at the Township of Teck to Victor Rozon and Sara Duhaime. She is predeceased by her parents Victor Rozon and Sara Duhaime, her sons Denis Chartrand in 1952 and Pierre (Peter) Chartrand in 1973, her first husband Omer Chartrand in 2000 and her second husband Jean Mino in 2016; her brothers, Alcide, Ernest and Hector, her sisters Beatrice and Aline; her sister-in- laws; Angeline Rozon, Grace Arcand, Doreen Rozon, Beatrice Rozon, Helene Mino, Carmelle Harrison, Therese Middaugh, Edmonde Mino; her brother- in -laws Albert Chartrand, Privain Lariviere, Frank Pearce, Rene Chartrand, Marcel McLean, Romeo Rivard, Gerald Mino, Roland Mino, Gordon Mino.
She is survived by her loving daughter Lina Chartrand-Carriere (Gilbert), step-sons Michel Mino (Anna) and Marc Mino; grandchildren Michael Chartrand (Jennifer), Lisa Penfold (Tim), Krysta Mino (Anthony), Jordan Mino (Julie); great grand children Jordyn Chartrand (Dustin), Jesse Penfold, Joshua Penfold, Haidyn Rozon, Weston Mooney. She is survived by her brother Leo Rozon of Belmont, Ontario, sisters-in-law; Rhea Rivard, Denise Chartrand, Rita Chartrand, Janine McLean, Lysette Savard Mino, Jeannine Pruner, brother-in-law; Rejean Chartrand. She will be fondly remembered by many friends, nieces and nephews.
Mom devoted her life to her family. She was always there to give a helping hand. Her motto was “always be kind” “do no harm”.
Mom during her lifetime worked at many jobs, Pearce's Red and White, Seymour's Men's and Ladies Wear, Saul's, The Red Caboose, Canada Dry and owning her own store Irene's Milk Store.
Holidays were spent with Mom cooking up a storm. Music filled the air with her singing, playing the piano or guitar with friends Len Surtees on violin, Norma Surtees on spoons and her brothers Leo and Hector on violin and her sister Aline on spoons. Everyone was welcome to join in. These were joyous times.
Mom loved camping, playing cards, dancing, doing all kinds of crafts, travelling and socializing. She had finally found a dancing partner in Jean. She loved the cottage life both at Round Lake and in Sessekinika.
We shall miss her smile, her kind ways, she was always there when we needed her. We shall remember you Mom and try to strive by your motto of “Always be kind, do no harm.” Until we meet again, we love you.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring.
