MATHIEU, Ida (née Turgeon)The Mathieu family announces with sorrow the death of a beloved wife and mother at the age of 93, Mrs. Ida Mathieu. Ida died peacefully on September 15, 2019 at Teck Pioneer Residence with her loving husband of 71 years by her side.Predeceased by her parents Olivier and Ovilia Turgeon and her siblings Olivier Turgeon, Felix Turgeon, Onile Turgeon, and Jeannette Lemire.Ida will be deeply missed by her husband Raymond Mathieu at Teck Pioneer Residence, her children Roger Mathieu (Esther Fraser) of Charlton, Suzanne Perron (Don) of Dowling, Lorraine Bunclark (Bob) of Binbrook, as well as her grandchildren Caroline Hamelin (Andre), Tina Mathieu, Lissa Clowater (Kent), David Perron (Ally), Andrew Mathieu (Tara), great grandchildren Patrick Simpson and Danielle Hamelin, Matthew Shortt and Jessica Shortt, Dylan Clowater and Nathan Clowater, Leah Perron and Erica Perron, and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ida is also survived by her sister Gloria Camirand of (Timmins) and brother-in-law Rene Mathieu (Marlene) of New Liskeard.Ida began her career as a Hairdresser in the Arcade Building in Kirkland Lake. Later when she married and moved to Holtyre, she started her own Hairdresser Salon. Eventually the family moved back to Kirkland Lake and she worked as a Salesclerk at Saul’s Clothing Store for thirteen years. She was a member of the Encore Club, the 50+ Club, and was a faithful member of Eglise Assomption and Les Filles d’Issabelle.Ida fully enjoyed life. She travelled a little and enjoyed the outdoors with her family. She was always ready to clean, cook fish and sit by the campfire. In her later years Ida enjoyed socializing with the residents of Teck Pioneer Residence. She was out walking the hallways every day and went outdoors as often as she possibly could. She always enjoyed her chats with the other residents. She taught her family very good values and we were so blessed to have had her with us all of these years. Your work is done Mom. You did a great job raising us. Now it is time for you to rest in peace.The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses who provided exceptional care during her stay at Kirkland District Hospital ICU and the Palliative room. The family would also like to extend our deep appreciation to the staff at Teck Pioneer Residence for their compassion, and loving care for our mother during her last days.Funeral Service:
