Helen Norma Tryon,

HELEN NORMA TRYON,

2021

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Helen Norma Tryon. Born and raised in the Huntsville, Port Sydney area. Helen is survived by her husband Martin Tryon Sr., daughters Tina Turley (Barry), Jackie Groomes (Paul), son Martin Tryon Jr. (Nena). Grandchildren Kathaleen Groomes (Shane), Amos Groomes, Christina, Keira, Zachery. Great-grandchildren Aura-Lynn, Caledonia, Helena, Kyla. Sister Lorraine Kenny (Donald), niece Tracey and great nephew Noah. Helen will be truly missed by her many friends, relatives and extended family. In her early career Helen worked as an operator at Bell Canada. Before moving to Larder Lake, she was the manager of the Huntsville Salvation Army Thrift Store and many will remember her also from the years she worked at Arrowsmith Esso in Huntsville’s West End. It is amazing what an impact one person can have on a community. One who always did so much and expected so little in return. Over the years Helen has sat on many committees and was involved with many organizations and groups in both Huntsville and Larder Lake, either as a member or as a volunteer. Helen was a member/volunteer of the Larder Lake Festivals committee, the Ski Hill committee; CWL, Red Hat Society, Library Board, Christmas craft and bake sales. One of Helen’s “pet projects” was the Larder Lake Annual Christmas Food Drive. She loved camping and spent many summers at Raven Beach Campground, in Larder. Then the opportunity arose to operate the campground, Helen was in her glory. Many of the campers at the park said Helen made their camping season here very enjoyable with fish fries and BBQ’s as well as other events including her Christmas in July. We thank Helen for her generosity, kindness and many hours of volunteering in a community that she loved being part of. In our life time if we are fortunate enough to have a hand full of TRUE friends, friends that we can really depend on, friends that are there through thick and thin, then we are truly blessed. Helen was that kind of friend for many and she will be truly missed. Interment will take place October 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Stephenson Memorial Cemetery in Port Sydney, ON. (Please join the family if you wish). A celebration has taken place in Larder Lake with family and many dear friends. There will be a celebration of life at the Royal Canadian Legion BR#232 in Huntsville, October 4, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.Offer Condolence for the family of Helen Norma Tryon

To the family and friends of Helen Tryon, please accept my condolence. I did not know Helen personally, but from reading about her, she was truly a remarkable woman. It is times like these when we have to turn to God’s word and consider the hope that is held out for our loved ones we have loss in death. At Isaiah 25:8, God promises to swallow up death forever. He also promises at Psalm 147:3, that he will heal our broken hearts. Truly our hearts are broken at this time. At Acts 24:15, he promises to resurrect all who are in the grave back to a Paradise earth. (Psalm 37:11) Can you imagine seeing Helen again when she will be as vibrant as in her youth? (Job 33:25) Soon our imagination will be a reality. As we await God’s promises to be fulfilled, remember Numbers 23:19 where it says that “God is not like a man that he should tell lies. What he says he will do, he will do.” I hope the above scriptures brings you comfort in the days ahead.

Martin and Family. We are so sorry to hear of Helen’s passing and we are thankful that we got to see her and have a “Helen hug” a few weeks ago. She was an amazing lady that was so full of life and we will always hear her laughter in our hearts. Love Nancy, Rob, Jessica and Cole
