Hazel Louise Spangler After a brief illness, Hazel Louise Spangler (née Pringle) died at the Extendicare Nursing Home March 27, 2009. Mrs. Spangler was born October 31, 1914 in New Liskeard to Jenny and Andrew Pringle. She was educated at New Liskeard Public and High Schools followed by North Bay Teachers College. Mrs. Spangler began teaching in the 1930s at Rockley, followed by six years at Hudson Public School, six years in Dymond and 19 years at Haileybury Public School. She married Orville Spangler in 1940. Mrs. Spangler was a longtime member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, and the Music Teachers Association. She loved people and visited the sick everywhere. She was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 33. She is survived by her son Raymond Spangler (Connie) and daughter Edra Grace McKenna, sister Edra Pringle, grandchildren Victor (Franca) Taylor, Eric Taylor, Jayson (Nancy) and Greg (Christine) Spangler, and Carmen (Earl) Dancel as well as five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Spangler was predeceased by her husband Orville in 1986 as well as her brother William Pringle. Memorial service was held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church with Reverend John Van Vliet officiating. Friends from Sudbury, Toronto and surrounding area attended.
