Switzer, Harvey With heavy hearts the family announces the death of Mr. Harvey Switzer at the age of 96 years. Mr. Switzer passed away peacefully at Temiskaming Hospital in New Liskeard on September 28, 2015. Mr. Switzer was born April 25, 1919 at Hinchinbrooke Township to the late John Ralph Switzer and to the late Nora Wiesenberg. He is survived by his wife of 70 years Mary (nee Foster), his children Donald Switzer (Aggie) and Stuart Switzer; son in law Kenny Robertson and grandson Aaron Kehoe. Predeceased by his daughter Lynda Robertson. Mr. Switzer fought in World War II in the Army as a Corporal light anti air craft operator. He met the love of his life Mrs. Mary Foster in Scotland during World War II and married after the war on September 1, 1945 in Glasgow Scotland. They then set up housekeeping in Latchford , ON where his parents lived. After the war he worked at a sawmill as a supervisor. He enjoyed woodworking. What meant the most to him was his family, he was very devoted to them, was a good provider and a loving husband. He was also a member of the Latchford Orange Lodge, grandmaster 1948-1950. As per his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
