DELANEY, Gregory

1960 - 2022

Gregory Charles Delaney

Born Saturday November 5th, 1960 – Passed away April 12, 2022

Born in Nova Scotia, eventually made his way to Ontario. For the last several years he called Temiskaming Shores his home. He worked an assortment of jobs during his life. For the last 10 years he worked as a labourer for Polymet located in Cobalt, and as a vehicle detailer at Wilsons Chevrolet located in New Liskeard. He was a hard worker, but he liked to party to.

He is survived by his three brothers Shawn Joseph Delaney, Paul Edward Delaney, and Joseph Thomas Delaney. He always spoke highly of them. He is also survived by his good friend Collette Hillier of Newfoundland, he will be greatly missed by her and her family. He held a special place in his heart for his beloved mother, Geraldine Delaney. Although she passed away several years prior, he loved her very much and always talked about her. He is also survived by his good buddy Dan Hackett, who sat with him until the end.

Those who knew Greg knew that he had been battling cancer for quire some time. On April 12, 2022 at the Temiskaming Hospital, he passed in his sleep. I’m sure his mother was waiting there to meet him on the other side and take him by the hand.

Cremation has taken place. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral and Gregory’s remains will be laid to rest in Nova Scotia with his mother. His long-time friend, Dan Hackett will be hosting a celebration of life for him at Bass Lake Resort on Saturday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. We will all miss you Greg, but I know we will see each other again.
