To the Cassel Family It was an honour to have known Grace Cassel I looked forward to her visits & often inquired when she wasn’t in to visit. My name is Janet Spencer & I live and own a business in New Liskeard. Grace often stopped by to share her easy & delightful personnality when she came to town. She was so very excited when she was able to celebrate the arrival of her first grandchild. I offer my deepest sympathies to Grace’s family & I will miss her visits

To my cousin David and family. I am so sorry to hear about you mom’s death. I have not seen her for a long time, and it is sad that someone has to suffer with illness. My Mom, Helen Burton, who still lives up in Haileybury has been in contact with Grace over the past while. She would phone her occasionally to see how she was doing, and pass the information on to me and my brother Harry who lives in BC. It is sad to see the Cassel family getting smaller. Vina and my dad Jack were brother and sister, and I think back to the times when we were kids going to Kirkland Lake to visit them. It seems like yesterday in some ways, yet an eternity in others. David, I send my condolences to you and your family, and I hope you email me sometime so we can stay connected as family. …………Wendy Burton

David and family: My thoughts are with you. When our paths crossed a couple of years ago while your mom was facing surgery, a difficult time for her and you. She maintained a strong and determined attitude, with good humour, and I was glad to have had the time to get to know her a little, and to meet you. No matter how old we are, losing a mother is one of the deepest sorrows a heart can know, but her goodness, her caring and her wisdom live on like a legacy of love that will always be with you. I didn’t see Grace too often but did enjoy our visits on the phone, and kept in touch with her. As she got more ill, she was not able to talk on the phone with me. I will miss her. Please accept my sympathies. Love Aunt Helen.

Dave, It has been many years since I saw your Mom but have always kept in contact through my Mom (Helen Goldie Maguire/Cassel/Simpson). I have many happy memories from when I was younger of spending time with your parents. I was deeply saddened to learn of her passing and have let Mom know of it as well. Please accept our deepest condolences and know that we are praying for you and your family.
