Throughout her life, Mrs. Wright was known for her generosity, and personal strength. She shared her home with whomever needed a place to rest and a hot meal. Her children’s friends were treated like her own and sleepovers were the norm. Her strength and courage was phenomenal. She was renowned for her cooking and baking abilities. She spent many years as a cook at the Englehart Hospital and local restaurants as well as making her famous “buns†for many events. Her creativity was well- known ranging from decorating wedding cakes to prize-winning Halloween costumes. She wrote many poems over the years and kept up a running correspondence with her sister Wanda. She grew up in a large family where she learned the value of a dollar.
