Connelly, Germaine

CONNELLY, Germaine

1928 - 2023

Germaine Connelly (née Côté) passed away on November 17th, 2023, at the age of 95.

Germaine was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son Gary (Jo-Anne Lanigan), grandchildren Alexandra (Kristopher Sass), Shawn (Janie Chaloux), Kevin (Karine Langlois), Vanessa (Raphaël Campagna), great grandchildren Jacob, Samuelle, Liticia, Emrik, Charles, Liam and James, and her brother René Côté (Colombe Lehoux).

Germaine will also be sadly missed by many other relatives and friends.

Throughout the years, Germaine and her predeceased beloved husband, Norm, were involved in countless community activities and always had time to give back to their community or family and friends. Germaine also never missed a game of her cherished Habs.

Grand-maman Germaine was deeply loved and will be fondly remembered. We invite all friends and family to celebrate her life by sharing a toast in her memory (we suggest white wine...with some ice).

A service is being planned for the spring of 2024 in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, her ashes will be interred with her dear husband, Norm, and beloved daughter, Nancy, with whom she is now reunited. Relatives and friends will be provided with the date and details.

Gary, our sincere condolences to you and your family. Aunt Germaine was a great person. We always felt welcomed and had great conversations with her. We will miss her beautiful smile and laughter. Losing a Mom is hard, as she is the heart of the family. She will now be your beautiful guardian angel. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family during this difficult time. Love Micheline and Bruce - We will share a toast in her memory, yes with white wine & ice.

The Connelly Family and Friends

Many years have passed since we first met at the KLGC, Germaine with her sis-in-laws, Leona and Reg, LOTS of fond memories of our golf days. Germaine was a Special Lady, I would always send her a BD card every year. I will cherish our friendship and memories forever. RIP, say hi to Norm for me.

The Connelly Family

We were so saddened and upset to hear the news of Germaine’s passing ! Both she and Norm contributed so much to the community of KL through their generosity, thoughtfulness, and involvement in so many town activities ! Their friendship and support within the town is something we will always remember and cherish. We were so fortunate to have them as friends for a period of time ! We will continue to remember her smile , sense of humour and kindness.
Our next glass of white wine( with ice) will be in honour of those good memories- Brian and Gale Hamilton
