While in Highschool at KLCVI in 1948 a small group of friends from Larder Lake agreed to be friends forever.Florence was one and I was another of those friends.For 73 years -give or take- we have been corresponding to this day. We are so sorry Florence had to leave us. I mention a few others who wrote yearly letters faithfully.Elaine Atkinson,Norah Pirie, Joan Wyse, Eileen Hill, and Marilyn Millar, Leslie Pirie and me Thelma Hill. It has been wonderful knowing Florence.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of Florence. We had the honor of being neighbors for a few years and she became a good friend. We have great memories and stories of the time spent with her. The community was definitely a better one when Florence was near. A wonderful volunteer in every sense of the word. She will be looking down on everyone and everyone will be blessed.

Dear Peter and Family, I was so very sad to hear that your Mother had passed. It won’t be the same coming home to Larder and not seeing her smiling face or hearing her cheery voice. Church will not be the same without such a dedicated parish member. She will be missed. My sincere condolences to all of you.

Larry and Shirley were very good friends of ours and that is how we met Florence. Whenever she came to visit Larry and Shirley she always made a point of visiting us and having a cup of tea. After Larry passed and Shirley moved away we kept in touch with each other, as good friends do. We shall miss our talks together and we are very saddened to hear of her passing . During Larder Lake’s Centennial Reunion, my sister, Nancy and I as well as our cousins Vicky (Cilurzo) and Julia (Cosentino) were able to spend some time with Florence. Florence was one of a kind in the very best of ways. If she was your friend, you were priviliged. She worked many years with my father-in-law, Jim O’Shaughnessy and he had nothing but love and respect for her as did Dave and I. When we visited her in 2019 she was the same as when we had last seen her. She will be very missed.

Florence was a lovely, lovely person. I grew up in Larder and counted her a friend. She was a joy to meet and talk to. I also remember Bruno as a child . I remember him coming and fixing out TV. He and my Dad often spent time in the Hosp. together as well with heart conditions. He was a wonderful gentleman. I will miss seeing your Mom. My sincere condolences to all.
